New Push-Button Dials Successful Here's the official press release announcing that Bell telephone (remember them?) was going to switch from rotary dialed phone to 'push-button dials." It's the beginning of a revolution, according to the release. 1962 and the beginning steps of what lead to cell phones, iphones, texting, and more. As Elvis would have said (or maybe still is saying), "It Happened at the World's Fair!"
