Here's an interesting tidbit from early "mid-century" Seattle. There aren't as many advertisements as we become used to later, but there are listings of restaurants, lounges, hotels, hospitals, service clubs.... from Seattle of yesterday. Possibly the second most exciting event in Seattle during March, 1954, was the "Fourth Annual International Show of Chinchilla Champions" held at the Norway Center. "The Night Beat" column by Jack Gordon is an interesting mixture of welcome tourists and news for Seattle's P.R. Community.
